"Crashing the Party" Comes to Mixed Blood Theatre

For the first time a few months ago, I saw a production at Mixed Blood Theatre, an intimate setting inside an old building at 1501 South 4th Street in Minneapolis near the U of M campus. It's a great way to see up-and-coming talent at super-cheap ticket prices.

U of M Graduate Assistants Begin Legal Process for Unionization

University of Minnesota graduate assistants have begun a legal process to decide whether or not they want to be represented by the United Auto Workers union.

The students filed cards with the Bureau of Mediation Services on Jan. 17.

Franken, Energy Dept. Official Tour U of M Wind Research Station

Sen. Al Franken will be touring the University of Minnesota wind energy research station today.

The station, located at UMore Park in Rosemount, includes a 2.5 megawatt wind turbine and 426-foot meteorological research tower. The purpose of the consortium is to create new educational initiatives and research projects that develop wind power technology.

WEB FORECAST: Light Snowfall Should End Before Evening Commute

A light snowfall will last into the afternoon, but should end before the Friday evening commute.

KSTP.com Meteorologist Patrick Hammer predicts snowfall totals will be light with 1/2" to 1". Areas north of the Twin Cities toward Brainerd may see up to 2".
