The campus-wide system includes outdoor speakers with both alert tones and voice messages.

3,500 Local Hospital Workers Vote to Strike

About 3,500 members of the Service Employees International Union Healthcare Minnesota voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to strike.  After two days of voting, 91 percent supported the strike option.

If the union calls a 2-5 day strike it would affect:

-Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina
-Fairview Riverside Hospital in Minneapolis

Memorial Dedicated to Minneapolis Park Police Officer

A memorial has been dedicated nearly five years after a Minneapolis Park police officer died during a chase.

Tuesday, Minneapolis Park Police unveiled a memorial to Officer Mark Bedard in Minnehaha Park, a place where he once patrolled.

The memorial includes a boulder with a bronze inscription, a bench and trees.
